Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing something broken by putting the pieces back together with a lacquer made from precious metals like gold or silver. I like to think of this beautiful restorative art as a metaphor for the work that clients do when they come together to heal themselves and restore their relationships with one another. My focus is on holding a gentle and safe place for clients to creatively explore their relationships with self and others while encouraging personal growth in meaningful and effective ways. I completed my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Northcentral University. Returning to graduate school as an older adult, I found that my years of life experience enhanced my studies and work as a therapist. I am a grateful member of the TLC team supervised by Stephanie Neidermyer LMFT. I work as a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist serving individuals, couples, and families. My work has its foundation in a systemic, client-centered, and strengths-based perspective. I am particularly passionate about understanding the effects of trauma, studying cultural humility, and working with under-served populations in Arizona. I believe that compassionate self-awareness and healing go hand-in-hand, and I am honored to assist on the path towards restoration and well-being.
